IMPORTANT PREFACE FOR PARENTS

This story is basically a forensic child interview in a book. It allows parents to interview their children about a specific person in their child’s life. It can be done as often as the parent wishes considering different people their child knows. It is a way to probe without risking false allegations, and it conducts the questioning in a less intrusive manner than a formal interview.

Each page covers a specific area of questioning, and has several follow up questions among the text.

READ THE ENTIRE TEXT for that page before you pause for your child’s reply. This helps balance the child’s response, so that their answer is not biased toward any particular path of questioning. In other words, it prevents leading the child down any one path in their answer and ensures you the the most accurate and complete portrayal of the situation.

As you read the book, you are simply having the child tell a story about their lives. The pictures are designed to be plain and simplistic, because we want children talking about their own experiences, not relaying
suggestions through the illustrations.
