Child fire safety discussion picture firehouse bedroomFires can happen at any time of the day or night. So firefighters have to be ready at all hours to respond to a fire. Firefighters usually work in shifts, spending a day or two at the fire house and then going home to spend time with their families. When they are at work, if there’s a call, an alarm sounds, and they have to quickly get up, put on their uniform, and run out to the fire truck to race to the site of the fire.
